Oregon Outreach - Board of Directors

The Oregon Outreach Board of Directors is the governing body responsible for ensuring that OOI accomplishes its mission. It is composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and knowledge who voluntarily provide oversight and guidance to OOI staff. Dr. Terrell Strayhorn

Dr. Terrell Lamont Strayhorn is one of the most prolific and influential scholars in the fields of education, psychology, and the academic study of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). Named of the country’s “Top Diversity Scholars” by Diverse Issues in Higher Education and a remarkable “Bridge-Builder” between academic- and student affairs by one of ACPA’s commissions, Strayhorn has authored 12 books, including the award-winning College Students’ Sense of Belonging (2nd ed, 2019), and over 200+ peer-reviewed journal articles and academic publications. His research has been cited, endorsed, or financially supported by over $10 million from the most premiere agencies in the world including Lumina Foundation, Annie E. Casey Foundation, National Science Foundation, to name a few. One of his core passions is translating research-to-practice in ways that improve the material conditions and lived experiences of our most vulnerable populations. He accomplishes this mission largely through the more than 2000+ public talks, distinguished lectures, and keynotes he has delivered across the globe.

A respected thought-leader and highly-sought speaker, Strayhorn’s ground-breaking research has been cited in many outlets including The Washington Post, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Huffington Post, Essence, and Diverse Issues, to name a few. He is President and CEO of Do Good Work Consulting Group, a minority-owned business that partners with hundreds of colleges, universities, corporations, and agencies each year to enhance culture, build inclusive environments, and boost belonging in ways that raise morale, increase retention, improve people’s journey, and help organizations hit their bottom line. He’s a Contributing Writer for Entrepreneur, Thrive Global, AllBusiness, and Psychology Today, where he leads the “Belonging Matters” blog.

Strayhorn is Professor of Education and Psychology; Director of the Center for the Study of HBCUs, and Principal Investigator of The Belonging Lab at Virginia Union University, where he also serves as Associate Provost for Faculty Development. He is Diversity Scholar-in-Residence at Harrisburg Area Community College, Fellow of AGB’s Institute for Leadership & Governance, and board member for several non-profits including Rainbow Labs, Oregon Outreach Inc., Career Analysis Academy, Psychologists of Color Inc., and the MCT Educational Foundation. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

Alina Nestjorkina, MSF

Vice Chair/Secretary
Financial Analyst, Bonneville Power Administration

Alina spent her formative years in Longview, WA. Her siblings attended alternative schools and she is passionate about providing educational opportunities that meet the needs of the students. After high school, Alina attended community college, and then transferred to a four-year college to finish her bachelors degree. After college, she volunteered as a math and science teacher with the Peace Corps and upon coming back from her volunteer service got her Master's Degree in Finance. Currently, Alina works in the energy sector and hopes to continue using her free time to help others achieve educational and professional success.

Outside of her professional life, Alina loves the outdoors, hiking, biking, backpacking and climbing.

Zonta Owens

Finance Chair

Associate Consultant, Bain & Company

Zonta is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan graduating with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering. Next year, he will begin his career as an Associate Consultant for Bain & Company helping corporations tackle some of their most daunting problems.

Previously he has held internships at Toyota, Ford, Microsoft and Tesla doing a mixture of supply chain and engineering tasks. In his free time, he loves to spend time with family and friends, playing basketball and video games as well as traveling.

Brandy Richardson

The Mental Health and Addiction Association of Oregon

People & Culture are Brandy's focus and passion, and she is so grateful to serve in this area and with Oregon Outreach's mission. Having worked in various roles within Human Resources and leadership generally, Brandy is particularly drawn to the challenges of employee relations and equity; the challenge of balancing what is right for the agency while ensuring employee advocacy is part of how she hopes to help improve people's lives as well as the greater community.

Jessie Lamb

Jessie Lamb (she / her) brings more than 20 years of professional nonprofit and higher education fundraising experience to Oregon Outreach. As an Oregon native and a first-generation college student, Jessie is passionate about ensuring students across the state have access to the opportunities and support they need to overcome challenges and meet their future goals. Her first-hand experience in small, rural schools in low-income communities informs her work on the OOI board, where she aims to center students and staff.
Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Jessie loves spending time with her family and enjoying the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Andrea_Cameron

Andrea Cameron, MPH

Director of Strategy and Enterprise Planning, PeaceHealth

Andrea Cameron has over 21 years in the healthcare sector, coupled with over a decade of experience in implementation of strategic initiatives. Presently holding the position of Director of System Strategy and Enterprise Planning at PeaceHealth, Andrea specializes in leading strategic planning, market analysis, service line planning, network development, and system strategy prioritization. Drawing from her comprehensive background, she brings multifaceted expertise to the table, including adept management of cross-functional teams and pioneering optimization initiatives across a network of hospitals.
Andrea's academic experience includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Tulane University and a Master of Public Health degree with a specialization in Health Policy and Management from Emory University. Beyond her professional achievements, Andrea remains an engaged community participant, actively involved with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Alzheimer's Association.

Julie Addicott Connor

Vice President and Financial Advisor, Taurus Capital Advisors

Julie Addicott Connor is dedicated to building the future that leads to our greatest collective potential. Throughout her career and community involvement, she strives to create opportunity and empower people to thrive. She is currently Vice President and Financial Advisor at Taurus Capital Advisors, where she helps people plan for life’s possibilities. Prior to this, she spent five years at the Nike Foundation, investing in adolescent girls to break the cycle of generational poverty, and four years at Nike, Inc., bringing the Nike brand to life through the retail experience. She holds a Master of Business Administration and bachelor’s degrees in Economics and International Studies from Willamette University.
